How to: map developer center account using Microsoft DreamSpark !

Hi everyone! In my previous blog, I discussed about how to get serial keys and download software by using SDM. Hope, you could try it. Today, I want to discuss you, how to open a developer center (dev center) account using Microsoft DreamSpark.
Before start, I want to discuss with you about Dev Center. What is Dev Cetner? Why we need it? How much it is? There are lots of question, I know! Don’t worry. I’ll answer your all the question. DevCenter account means Developer account, where you can submit your apps for Windows Phone or Windows Store. How much it is? Okay, good news is, a student can open a dev center account for free using Microsoft DreamSpark academic institution (those, who have no access of academic DreamSpark, please follow the link). Now, I want to teach you, how can you map your dev center account.

Step 01: Get verification code from academic dreamspark

Login at your academic dreamspark portal using your ID and password and click “others” from categories. In other section, you can get 1 item, called “ code to get free access to Microsoft Windows Store and Windows Phone Dev Center”. 02
Click on the item. In item detail page, click “Add to cart”. But, remember, “This verification code can be used only once (1-time activation)”. So, be careful. 03
In next step, “Check Out” the item and confirm your billing information. You can get a verification code. REMEMBER AGAIN, THIS IS ONE-TIME ACTIVATION ONLY. BE CAREFUL.

Step 02: Verify it at

Copy or save the verification code at your device. Now, go to and login using your Microsoft account. After login at, you can get a welcome message. 05
Now, access this link: “Access to Windows store and windows phone verification” and copy and paste the verification code that you got at DreamSpark Academic Institution. After verifying, you can get another code for accessing the Windows Store. 06

Step 03: Complete dev center registration:

Again, copy or save the code that you got now at Now, go to for completing the last step. Sign in using your Microsoft account and go to dashboard.
Select country “Bangladesh” and Account type “Individual”. Then type an unique name as Publisher Name, fill the required informaiton and click “next”.
In next page, you have to submit the code that you got from official [*note: the code that you got first time from academic institute, won’t work at dev center registration. The first code is for verifying your status and second code is for accessing the dev center]. Type or paste the code under prom08o code option.
Now, review the information and accept the agreement. 09

Congratulation! You are done !! Your account has been created successfully!
