How to: Get serial key and download software from DreamSpark (using SDM)

Hello again! Today’s blog is for those students who want to know about, how to get a serial key and download a software from Microsoft DreamSpark by using “Secure Download Manager (SDM)”. Hope, this blog will help you a ton about this matter.

So, lets start! If you have a DreamSpark account of your Academic Institutions, please access your academic Dreamspark WebStore and login using your username/email and password. If you confused or didn’t find our academic institution link, follow this link and search here by using your institution name.

02
After login at the WebStore, please choose the software that you need and click. For example, I’m choosing “Windows Server 2008 R2” for writing this blog. After clicking the software, you have to choose the edition and operating system Bit for download a proper version. Choose the version and click “Add to cart”.
02
After redirecting the “Your Cart” page, please click “Check Out”. And “Agree” the license agreement.
04
In Order and Billing Information section, write your name and email address to confirmation and click “Proceed with order”. 05
In Receipt tab, you will get a product key (serial key) and download option of the software. 06

Downloading Software using SDM:

After getting the serial key, you can get a link of downloading the software. Click “Start download” ( as I told in the previous step!). In a new tab, you will see, there are 2 steps. One is for Downloading SDM and another is for Downlading .SDX (package file). You have to follow step 1 first. So, click “Download SDM”. 07
Install the SDM after downloading. Then back to your browser. You have to follow the Step 2 now. Click “Download .SDX” 08
A .sdx file will download. Click to open the file. The “Secure Download Manager (SDM) will open and connect with your .sdx file. Then, click, “Start Download”. The software will download automatically. 09
Thank you 🙂
